Tribal Epidemiology Center:
Pandemic Influenza Planning Project for Tribes

Through a contractual agreement with the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), the SPIEC/Oklahoma City Area Inter-Tribal Health Board is providing technical assistance to the 39 Oklahoma tribes for Pandemic Influenza Planning/All Hazards Plan. Each Tribe that submits a completed plan to the Health Board which is approved by the OSDH will be eligible to receive financial assistance that may allow them to continue preparedness activities.

To receive funds for the Pandemic Influenza plan:

  • Tribal pandemic influenza plans approved by OSDH;
  • Participate on the Oklahoma Inter-Tribal Emergency Management Coalition (ITEMC); and
  • Show evidence of a relationship with their surrounding county health and emergency management partners.
  • Attend a OCAITHB National Incident Management System Compliant Preparedness training to ensure each tribal participant meets the OSDH requirement of receiving NIMS training
  • Receive certification of the following:

            ICS-100: Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
            ICS-200: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

            ICS-700: Introduction to National Incident Management System

            ICS-800: Introduction to National Response Framework
