Tribal Epidemiology Center:
Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI)

The Oklahoma City Area Inter-Tribal Health Board is currently providing technical assistance and evaluation for the 23 Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative programs in Oklahoma and Kansas.  The OCAITHB is currently conducting site visits with each of the programs, and has met with 13 programs as of February 18, 2010.  The OCAITHB is currently developing a local evaluation tool to assist with evaluation for the programs that do not have a designated evaluator.  The OCAITHB is planning a training for the MSPI program staff to attend, which will focus on GPRA measures, using RPMS, and other methods of data collection.  The OCAITHB has been facilitating the communication between the programs and IHS, and has held an area wide conference call to update programs on the National MSPI activities, to inform them of the semi-annual report due on March 31, 2010, and to provide a question and answer session for the programs.
