The Dental Support Center is here to provide technical support, resources, partnerships and collaboration to Indian Health Service, Tribal and Urban health programs operating within the Oklahoma City Service Area (Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas).  Please contact the Dental Support Center for more information or to arrange for any of the following services:

v  In-house staff trainings relating to infection control, GPRA, Health Promotion/Disease Prevention (HP/DP) projects, Early Childhood Caries or the Basic Screening Survey

v  Continuing Education opportunities

v  Staff recruitment activities

v  Trainings for non-dental professionals, such as WIC, PHN and CHR personnel, in fluoride varnish application and oral health education

v  Scheduling of Mobile Dental Van services for Head Start, Tribal Day Care and school-based programs

v  HP/DP mini-grant opportunities

v  Site visits for infection control and chart reviews, sealant retention studies and in-house staff trainings

v  Patient education literature

v  Coordination of research, demonstration projects and studies relating to the diagnosis, treatment, control and prevention of oral diseases

FY12 Oral Health Promotion/ Disease Prevention Mini Awards for Oral Health

To encourage well planned HP/DP activities for oral health, the Oklahoma City Area Dental Support Center will award eight (8) $2,000 mini-grants for Fiscal Year 2012. Please reference the Request for Proposal under the OCAITHB “opportunities” tab for complete instructions and deadlines.

Upcoming Continuing Education Events

Please “Save the Date” for the 2012 Oklahoma City Area Annual Dental Conference.  The meeting will be held on June 13-15, 2012 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Greater than 13 hours of quality CEUs will be provided.  More details will be provided soon.
